Thanks for emailing me the correct link, Megan! The one posted above does not work. Here is the correct link from your email: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gcSNYz9oKCSh4AcKlTHzYp8cv6fAU4CH/view?usp=sharing
ReplyDeleteThanks for this revised unit plan, Megan! It's in very good shape and meets all the criteria for this course. However, I strongly encourage you to talk it over with your SA and FA to refine it further before you teach the unit!
ReplyDeleteYour rationale, sequence of lessons and project are very good. Your assessment plan looks good, but you will need to define 'participation' more clearly if it is to count for 30% of students' marks -- otherwise, it could be interpreted as something the teacher cannot account for, or 'just the teacher's opinion'. Your three lessons are interesting and integrate short teacher explanations with participatory activities for students. Good work!
A few suggestions:
ReplyDeleteIn the project, the bedroom sounds very large! (The bedrooms in our house are more like 3mX 3.5m). It's up to you, but a 4m X 5m room might be unrealistic.
The History of Pi video is funny, but the mispronounced names, etc. might leave students feeling that the history doesn't really matter...? It's up to you and your SA to judge the appropriateness of videos and other resources, but take a second look at this one.
You haven't really described the 'face it' card game, either in the unit plan or the worksheet. I'm not sure what it involves, and you should describe it in more detail.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
